Black History Month 2023- Thanks to Mary Beatrice Davidson

Each Black History Month, I get reminded of the well-known and not so well known history makers.  Last year I featured Ms Davidson.  I thought it would be cool to reshare her story with you.

Do you have any idea what US2745406A is?

Well in honor of Black History Month, I'd like to introduce you to Mary Beatrice Davidson. (Grunge.com).

She's the inventor of the Sanitary Belt otherwise known as Invention US2745406A awarded to her in 1956.

Sanitary belts were the precursor to our modern-day Sanitary Pad.  If you are old enough, you might remember stores selling belted or beltless maxi pads.  Now nobody is using a belt and maxi pad makers dropped 'beltless' from their packaging.  If you are a nerd like me, you might be interested in seeing what an actual sanitary belt looks like.  Check it out below.
