In Honor of Giving Tuesday, here's a list of some of our Favorite Non-Profits
Today is ‘Giving Tuesday’ and I thought I would feature just a few people and organizations supporting women and fighting for more equitable periods. I hope you consider donating to any of these organizations. I am sure grateful for their giving spirt and the important work they do:
Starting close to home is the Atlanta based Fayette Pregnancy Resource Center (FPRC). FPRC is a faith-based, nonprofit organization offering physical, spiritual, and emotional support to women facing an unplanned pregnancy. Since 1994, FPRC has served thousands of women and families through free pregnancy tests, counseling, and resources for pregnancy and parenting. Femdacity partners with FPRC with donations of our cloth pads.

I learned about this mother-daughter team from a friend who pointed me to their feature in Black Enterprise Magazine. No more secrets is a mother and daughter team who have personally suffered from the humiliation of period poverty and grappled with Menstrual insecurities after the incarceration of their ex-husband and father. They now dedicate their lives to personally delivering thousands of menstrual products every week to desperate women and girls throughout the Phila and surrounding areas. Much love to these ladies♥️.

The more I research period inequity, the more I learn about the amazing individuals and non-profits seeking to change policy. Have you heard about Bill H.R. 1882? Well, that makes two of us. H.R. 1882 is a bill that is sponsored by Rep. Grace Meng of NY to require menstrual products for public school students, incarcerated individuals, and homeless individuals.
Did you know in 27 states tampons and pads are taxed whereas items like lip balms and tattoos have no tax in some states. Attorneys Jennifer Weiss-Wolf and Laura Strausfeld from Period Equity are seeking to change this through period friendly policies. Virtual high five ladies 🙌🏽
