Pack Right🧳

As someone with an irregular period, I always need to be prepared for a surprise.  The obvious items to pack are:

  1. Pain killers- Keeps the cramps, achy feeling and headache at bay
  2. Feminine wipes- This helps you to clean up and feel fresh in between showers.
  3. Extra Protection- Extra pads, tampons, underwear should always be kept in your camping storage. You can opt for disposable pads or tampons.  In the last few years, I’ve learned to appreciate reusable and washable items like menstrual cups or the Femdacity Panty and Pad

Be Bath House Ready🛀

My family and I rate camping locations based on the view, proximity to fun things, and the condition of the Bath House.  I have experienced the good, the bad and the ugly.  Here’s a few things that have helped us:

  1. $ Store Liquid Hand Soap- Some bath houses have dispensers, and some do not so I always bring and leave $1 liquid hand soaps for the bath house sink area. Your fellow campers will be thankful because no one likes using the bathroom and not have soap to wash their hands especially during your period.
  2. Flushable toilet seat covers- One of the things that make public toilets tolerable are those lovely little flushable toilet seat covers.  Do yourself a favor and pick up 1-2 packs in the camping aisle of your favorite big box store.
  3. Flip Flops- With all the people who use the bath house, you would think this would be a no brainer.  I can almost guarantee seeing at least one pair of bare feet in the shower stall next to me each time I camp. Gross!  Save yourself the athlete’s foot and pick up a pair of flip flops.
  4. Follow the cleaning people- Enjoy using a freshly cleaned bathroom by timing your shower right after the bath house is cleaned.  All you need to do is ask the office the days / times of the bath house cleaning schedule.  This might require you to get up early.  Trust me, it’s worth it!

Those are my tips!  Drop a line and share what's been working for you.
